Andy began playing volleyball in 2002 with the Riptides VBC… Attended Loyola High School in Los Angeles 2003-06… Four-year varsity player ... Played setter and libero for head coach Michael Boehle... Cubs were CIF Division I champions in 2003, 2004, and 2005... Loyola won Mission League titles all four years he played... Collected many accolades as a senior, including league and team MVP, Second Team All-CIF, Volleyball Magazine All-American, and Fab 50 recognition... First Team All-CIF and First Team All-Mission League as a junior... Named to the Los Angeles Times All-Star Team that year as well... Second Team All-Mission League as a sophomore… Started at UC Santa Barbara in the fall of 2006… Majoring in communication with a minor in athletic coaching… Scheduled to graduate in 2011.
BEACH VOLLEYBALL HIGHLIGHTS: Theo has played beach volleyball for seven years. His current partner is Madisson McKibben. 2010 – A member of the under-26 training team for the World University Championships. 2008 – Finished ninth at the FIVB Under-21 World Championship in Brighton, England, with partner Jeremy Casebeer.
COLLEGE: 2010 – All MPSF Third Team… Led UCSB in digs with 322, setting a UCSB single season record… Ranks third nationally in total digs and tenth in the country with 2.75 digs per set… Recorded 19 matches with 10 or more digs, four matches with 15 or more digs, and set a career-high with 22 digs vs. Long Beach State (1/13). He is fifth on UCSB's career digs list with 683. 2009 – Played in 25 matches and 89 sets while splitting time at libero with Mike Runkle... Recorded a team-high 219 digs and a 2.46 digs/set average, 18th best in the country... McGuire's 219 digs in one season ranks 10th-best all-time in UCSB history... Named Academic All-MPSF for the second year in a row... Second on the team in total reception attempts (532). 2008 – Named Academic All-MPSF...
