PERSONAL: Born Owen Patrick McAndrews on Sept. 20, 1993 in Lakewood, Ohio… Parents are Sean and Jennifer McAndrews… Owen has a sister named Kailee (born in 1985) who also played volleyball… Owen started playing volleyball in 2006 for the Southwest Volleyball Club… Owen also plays basketball… Favorite food is a chicken burrito… Favorite team is the Cleveland Cavaliers… Favorite athletes is LeBron James… Favorite musician is Jay-Z… Owen’s most admired person is sister Kailee because “she is the most well-rounded individual I know and I look up to her because she has an incredible drive.”

 

USA VOLLEYBALL HIGHLIGHTS: 2011- Selected to the U.S. Boys’ Youth National Training Team. 2010 -Member of the Boys' Youth National Team that finished second at the NORCECA Boys' Youth Continental Championship in Guadelajara, Mexico. 2009 – Boys’ A1 Select Team at High Performance Championships in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. 2008 – Boys’ A1 Select Team at HP Championships in Tucson, Ariz. 2007 – HP developmental camp in Virginia.

 

CLUB/PREP HIGHLIGHTS: 2010 – OVR championship third place with Matchpoint Volleyball Club. 2009 – St. Edward High School Varsity starter (freshman)… Second team all District player (freshman)… Division 1 State semifinalists (freshman)… OVR champions with Southwest Volleyball. 2007 – USAV Boys’ National Championships 15-under All-Tournament Team with Southwest Volleyball Club. 2006 – CYO Boys’ City Champions.
