PERSONAL: Born Scott William Rhein on June 12, 1993 in Finksburg, Md. … Scott’s parents are Frank Rhein, Jr. and Carol Green. He also has a stepfather, Rick Green… Scott has an older brother Stephen (born in 1985) and two older sisters Katie (1988) and Amanda (1991)… Amanda plays volleyball for Lipscomb University… Scott’s stepfather Rick introduced the family to volleyball when Scott was 9 years old… Scott started playing for the Maryland Volleyball Program in 2006… He has played beach volleyball for one year with partner Tyler Golsteyn… Scott is home schooled through Aaron Academy… Favorite food is Maryland steamed crab and crab cakes… Favorite book is the Bible… Favorite musicians are Jack Johnson and Bob Marley… Favorite professional team is VfB Friedrichshafen… Favorite athletes is Matt Denmark… Most admired person is Todd Rogers... Scott's happiest moment was when he received the email indicating that he would be competing with the U.S. Boys' Youth National Team in Mexico for Nationals.
USA VOLLEYBALL HIGHLIGHTS: 2011: Selected to the U.S. Boys’ Youth National Team. 2010 – Member of the Boys' Youth National Team that finished second at the NORCECA Boys' Youth Continental Championship in Guadelajara, Mexico...Finished in first place and Named “Best Spiker” at Boys’ High Performance Championships… Boys’ High Performance Holiday Camp in San Diego, Calif 2009 – Boys’ High Performance Holiday Camp in San Diego, Calif… Second place with Boys’ Select Team at High Performance Championships in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
INTERNATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS: 2011: Played on the Boys' Youth National Team that competed in the Under-19 Pan American Cup in Mexicali, Mexico (Bronze). Scott charted five aces and seventh-tournament best and second-team best server.
CLUB/PREP HIGHLIGHTS: 2010 – Named to Volleyball Magazine’s “Boys Top 25”. 2009 – Third place at the Asics Invitational in Chicago, 18-U division… 19th at Boys’ National Championships in Atlanta, Ga., 18-U division. 2008 – Second place at Florida (Orlando) Regionals, 18-U division… Sixth place at East Coast Championships in Richmond, Va., 18-U division… Second place at Men’s Beach Tourney in Nashville Beach. 2007 – Finished third with MVP at Nittany II in 14-under division… Second place with MVP at CHRVA Regionals. 2006 – Place 10th with MVP at the Boys’ Junior National Championships.
