Four Junior Qualifying Events this Weekend

The qualifying season for the 2010 USA Volleyball Girls' Junior National Championships is in full swing this weekend with four qualifier events going on. The Hoosier Mid East Qualifier (MEQ), Pacific Northwest Qualifier (PNQ) and Southern California Qualifier are all in the their second weekend of qualifying, while the NorthEast National Qualifier starts this weekend.
The MEQ will have its second weekend of qualifying March 26-28 in Indianapolis. This MEQ includes divisions for 15 Open and Club, 17 Open and Club, and 18 Open and Club. For the first time, the MEQ Qualifier will broadcast live on the Internet the three finals of Open Division. On March 28, the 15 Open championship will be broadcast at 1 p.m. EST, followed by the 18 Open final at 2 p.m. EST and the 17 Open title match at 3 p.m. EST. The PNQ, contested in the eastern Washington state towns of Spokane and nearby Cheney, will contest seven qualifying brackets March 26-28. Divisions being played this weekend include 15 Open and Club, 16 Open, 17 Open and Club, and 18 Open and Club. Last week, the PNQ held qualifying events for 12 Club, 13 Club, 14 Open and Club, and 16 Club. To view the PNQ Web site, visit www.pacificnwqualifier.org. After a successful first weekend with Open and Club Divisions for 15s, 17s and 18s, the Southern California Qualifier at the American Sports Centers in Anaheim continues March 26-28 with the 12 Club, 13 Club, 14 Open and Club, and 16 Open and Club events. The NEQ, located in Baltimore, has 10 qualifying events on tap March 27-29. While the qualifying events into the 2010 USA Volleyball Girls' Junior National Championships makes for a busy weekend, so do the four USA Volleyball High Performance Tryouts. USA volleyball conducted two tryouts on March 25 (the day before the qualifier weekend started) at the Spokane Convention Center and the Indianapolis Convention Center. On March 26, USA Volleyball will conduct a tryout at the Baltimore Convention Center from 5-8 p.m. On March March 28, tryouts at the Indianapolis Convention Center and American Sports Center in Anaheim will take place between 5 and 8 p.m. Walk-up registration is allowed.
