Boys' Bids Running Low
by Becky Murdy / March 22, 2011
Nine of the 10 2011 Boy’s Junior National Bid Tournaments have been completed and with one to go, tension builds for teams seeking the remaining sports in Open Division without going through the At-Large process.
The final installment of the 2011 USA Volleyball Boys’ Junior National Bid Tournaments is slated for May 28-30 in Richmond, Va., at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. The Boys’ East Coast Championship (BECC) is an annual event held over Memorial Day weekend with a potential two bids to be awarded in each age group.
The 32nd annual USA Volleyball Boys’ Junior National Championships (BJNC) will take place in Minneapolis, Minn., June 29-July 6. Ticket information and purchasing package information can be found by clicking here. Teams wishing to compete at the BJNC in the Club Division can register through June 6 in Advanced Event Systems (AES, www.advancedeventsystems.com), the online entry system. Entries and fees must be sent to your Region office to be received by USAV by June 8. For more information please visit the 2011 USA Volleyball Boys’ Junior National Championship website: http://usavolleyball.org/events/4872.
Teams who had qualified in previous 2011 Boy’s Junior National Bid Tournaments are allowed to compete in other qualifying tournaments. If that qualified team places in a national bid position again, their bid moves down to the next highest-finished team.
The first of the bid tournaments took place January 8-9 where nine teams qualified in four age groups. The eighth annual No Dinx/ NCVA Junior Far Western Boys’ Bid Tournament represents the Northern California Region and took place at the San Mateo Event Center.
