Pit Stops on the Way to Turkey!

by Girls Youth National Team / August 09, 2011

Hey everyone this is Nicole Dalton!

Throughout these past 20 days together we on the U.S. Girls’ Youth National Team have become really close and have grown a lot as a team. We have learned about what it takes to be a good teammate and how to solve our problems on the court. It has been so much fun getting to know all the girls and it’s great being with them every waking moment! We have had some great laughs; all the way from the hilarious quotes that we have written down coming from Jim’s mouth to trying to understand the Swedish guy’s hockey team talk.

As training progressed from Tucson to Lake Placid we have all improved and begun to work together as a team. Each session pushes us harder and harder to get closer to medaling at the World Championship! Sessions are difficult, but we have learned that you can’t just get through practice you have to come in with a purpose to get drills done. Everything has been awesome with where we have stayed and the food has been delicious!

Lake Placid is beautiful, especially at night when we all get to star gaze. We have visited the hockey rink where the movie Miracle took place and shopped din town. The Olympic Training Center here is very well kept and it is a great place to stay for training.

We are back on the road again tomorrow to continue our exciting travels to Turkey! Go USA!
