Turkey and its Fabulous Food
by Girls Youth National Team / August 13, 2011
Hello everyone, my name is Paulina Prieto and I am a member of the Girls’ Youth National Team. Breakfast was good. They had hard-boiled eggs, fruits, cereal, and French fries. They had a large variety of bread and cheese which both were amazing. Today we had our first practice in the facility where we will play against Puerto Rico tomorrow. It was nice being able to get used to the gym where we will play and get in some reps before our first match. However, we were only allowed to practice an hour and a half. After that, it was back to the hotel to eat lunch. Lunch was really good as well. They have really good soups. They served us white rice, chicken, and French fries. For desert, they served us fruit. So far, we have learned the words “Merhaba” which means hello and “Tesekkur-lar” which means thank you. Later in the day, we watched video on Puerto Rico to prepare for our match. We are all ready and excited for our first match tomorrow and cannot wait to represent our country in our quest for the gold medal. Go USA!
