We woke up bright and early this morning to prepare ourselves for a challenging match against Germany at 10:30. After our exciting day off yesterday, we expected to be refreshed and we were pumped for the first match of the pool. We arrived at the gym and planned for success.
However, with the first game of our match ending in a loss at 24 to 26 our energy and initial expectations slowly drained away. The match resulted in a devastaing loss of Germany winning in three sets. The locker room and bus ride back to the hotel were filled with complete silence.
This feeling was one we decided we never wanted to endure again. That was why when we heard we had practice at 5 that night we wanted to get straight there and fix our mistakes from the morning. It was a very successful practice and we accomplished a lot.
The night was busy as well as we got ready to battle it out with Slokavia the next day. After such a busy day we were all happy to snuggle up in bed and fall asleep.
