Victory and Adversity
by Rick Simpson / August 24, 2010
Victory is the word for today.
Although at times our team had questioned themselves during the Egypt match. The answer came in the face of adversity while coming from behind scoring seven out of nine points to end the game and the match. Wow!
Our team had displayed a very high level of determination. And "Why Not." For this USA team was amassed weeks before competition. Unlike other teams here who have been playing internationally together for years. But this is not an excuse. Our girls will play and our coaches will coach as all American teams before us displaying that great American heart that seems to pull us through. There is a very high level of American spirit and Pride ringing through out this stadium and community. Go USA.
"As a side note" To one passionate dedicated American mother who's plane departs tomorrow morning from Denver to travel 23 hrs and 9000 miles . Over the Pacific in route to witness the possibility of a first-ever Girls' Youth Volleyball Gold Medal and see her daughter compete and display the "Great American Heart" in the will to win the Gold. "GodSpeed" and may your will and determination be on the wings. See you Soon. I Love You.
