Photo: Greg Vernovage The U.S. Men's Team holds a meeting prior to its scrimmage on Sept. 20 in Gela, Italy. The team played a friendly match here in Gela. It is a great gym with a very hospitable group. The USA men went to work in front of about 1,500 spectators. The result was in our favor as we put Pallavolo Gela away 3-0 (25-18, 25-22, 25-15).
As the team prepared for the match, the first note to be taken was the excitement to play against a new opponent. It is quite warm here as you would expect and the Men are adjusting nicely to both the time change and the heat.
The gym has recently gone through a make over. The floor is great and the roof is way up there. We had opportunities to purse balls and push the tempo of each game.
After the match, the Team showed there appreciation to the crowd, took pictures and signed cards.
Some GREAT pizza at a local restaurant, after all, we are in Italy. Next up, practice this afternoon, Aaron
