I am back at the gym getting ready to scout the Belgium-Poland match. The Belgium team has one of the bigger buses so I have been riding with them in the mornings.
The team has secured a spot in the top eight with the win yesterday. I hope you have been following on the live score site. I have been told that only the Lima matches are on the Internet. All the Peru matches are on live TV in Peru. It is a pretty cool atmosphere with the Peru team at the same venue. I was here in 1982 for the FIVB World Championship for the senior team and I do remember the people swarming the team and the buses.
We had a great first set versus Poland and took the first game. We did not pass very good in came 2 and missed some serves. Game 3 was fun to watch. We seemed to have the set in control until we missed some serves and let them back in the game. We pulled out the set 29-27 and then went on to win the match in 4 sets.
We found out this morning that they are having 1 top 8 pool in Lima and 1 in Trujillo. The pool with Peru will go to Lima in the morning. Because of this, we will not know if we are traveling until after the Peru match tonight.
Please continue to follow us on the USA Volleyball Page. The players are posting daily blogs. This is where you can get the player perspective since I am not with them very much.
More updates later and GO USA!
