COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Jan. 25, 2010) - Change Sports Physical Therapy Institute has been named the Preferred Physical Therapy Provider for U.S. National Volleyball Teams, according to USA Volleyball Secretary General Kerry Klostermann.
Change SPTI, located in the American Sports Centers – the official USA National Teams Training Facility, will work with the National Teams over the next year to assist with athlete injury rehabilitation and provide athletic trainer coverage.
“We are very excited to have Matt Swift and Change SPTI working with our National Teams this year,” said Aaron Brock (Storm Lake, Iowa), USA Volleyball’s director of Sports Medicine and Performance to the U.S. National Teams. “My goal is to create the most comprehensive medical team for our athletes and Change SPTI will definitely help be a means to that end. Change SPTI provides quality medical care and we are very fortunate to have access to this professional service.”
“Change SPTI is proud to be able to assist the U.S. National Volleyball Teams as they train and compete in preparation for the 2012 Olympic Games in London,” said Change SPTI’s Matt Swift, a doctor of physical therapy as well as an athletic trainer.
Swift will work directly with both National Team programs as Change SPTI shares a facility with the U.S. National Indoor Volleyball Teams inside the American Sports Centers located in Anaheim, Calif. Last summer he worked with the National Teams and is looking forward to this broader involvement in program support services.
“The combination of Matt’s experience and training in physical therapy, athletic training and collegiate sport participation makes this a good fit for assisting our athletes with their rehabilitation needs and athletic trainer support,” Klostermann said.
Swift earned his doctor of physical therapy at Chapman University. He holds dual bachelor of science degrees in pre-physical therapy and athletic training from Vanguard University.
