COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (June 14, 2010) – The U.S. men’s beach volleyball team of Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers finished the FIVB World Tour Grand Slam Presented by Seat with the silver medal in Moscow, Russia on Monday

Dalhausser (Ormond Beach, Fla.) and Rogers (Santa Barbara, Calif.), the tournament’s top-seeded team, fell to China’s Penggen Wu and Linyin Xu, seeded 13th, in the championship match, 17-21, 21-17, 15-17, in 57 minutes.

Dalhausser and Rogers reached the gold medal match by defeating Germany’s third-ranked Julias Brink and Jonas Reckermann, 21-15, 21-15, in 42 minutes.

The U.S. pair will split the $29,000 worth of prize money and despite the loss, still pace all of the men’s teams on the 2010 SWATCH FIVB World Tour with their 3,140 points. The next closest is Brink/Reckermann with 2,500 points. Wu/Xu upped their points to 1,540 with the win.

Casey Jennings (Las Vegas, Nev.) and Brad Keenan (Westminster, Calif.), the 17th-seeded team, advanced to their first medal match this season, but lost the bronze medal to Brink/Reckermann, 17-21, 17-21, in 44 minutes. Jennings and Keenan lost to Wu/Xu, in the semifinals, 12-21, 16-21, in 42 minutes.

Jennings and Keenan received $18,400 for fourth place. Not only was this the teams’ highest placing so far this year, it was also Keenan’s highest FIVB career finish. Jennings’ highest career finish was second place in 2009.

Three U.S. men’s teams – Dalhausser and Rogers, Jennings and Keenan and Jake Gibb (Bountiful, Utah) and Sean Rosenthal (Redondo Beach, Calif.) – head to Prague, Czech Republic on Tuesday to compete in the SWATCH FIVB World Tour Patria Direct Open on June 16-20.

The U.S. women will take two weeks away from the FIVB World Tour, but will be playing the AVP Nivea Tour Virginia Beach (Va.) Open on June 18-20.

They will return to international action with the men in Stavanger, Norway, to compete in the ConocoPhillips Grand Slam Stavanger 2010.
