COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (July 10, 2010) – The 2010 USA Volleyball High Performance Championships will take place in Wisconsin Dells, Wis., from July 26-30 at The Chula Vista Resort Convention Center.

The tournament includes International Youth, National Youth and National Select divisions for girls’ and boys’ Youth and Junior teams. The HPC features an international theme with some variations of FIVB rules. Matches are best-of-five sets format with most teams playing eight matches during the event. The tournament will utilize some new FIVB rules such as the primary and secondary libero. In addition, the FIVB experimental rule of eight total subs per set but not limiting a player to one entry will again be used.

Entertainment will be plenty for the players and families at the event location. For entertainment outside of the volleyball competition, Wisconsin Dells, “The Water Capital of the World,” is a hot spot for tourists. With an annual five million annual visitor rate, the Wisconsin Dells area offers many exciting and activities that are sure to be a “splash” of fun for all ages.

The city takes its name from the area of the dells of the Wisconsin River, along with the nearby Lake Delton. The Dells is home to the largest water parks in the country, both indoor and outdoor, that are great activities for families and friends to enjoy. For those who like to stay dry but still enjoy the outdoors, there are boat tours available to enjoy an afternoon on the water, along with many beautiful sight-seeing and hiking opportunities. There are also various amusing day-time attractions that are on land including miniature golf, horseback riding, amusement parks and many other intriguing things. For some interesting fun, there are educational activities that are suitable for kids, families, or anyone of any age. If adults are looking for some evening fun, Wisconsin’s nightlife includes casinos, comedy clubs and other exciting entertainment.

Dells Boat Tours
This is a great way to really explore The Dells of Wisconsin. Participants will go on about a two hour round trip and may ride on either the top in the sun or underneath for more shade. The boat tour has a captain and a separate tour guide that point out several rock cliff formations and share lots of history about how the river has changed over time.

The Tommy Bartlett show is offered at two different times, 4:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. during this summer. The 8:30 show is busier, due to it adding the nightly laser and light fountain show. The show is meant to be for family entertainment and is a great way to sit back and relax. There is a waterskiing clown and a silly camp rivalry that results in a "ski-off" between the two groups. There are also jugglers and acrobatic people.
