USA Volleyball Beach Junior Tour Resumes Play

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (July 12, 2010) – The USA Volleyball Beach Junior Tour returned to play on July 10-11 in Mason, Ohio after a four-week hiatus. The Ohio Valley Open hosted four girls’ divisions, under-12, U14, U16 and U18, along with two boys’ divisions, U16 and U18.

In the girls’ U12 division, Macy Reihing (Lexington, Ky.) and partner Keyton Kinley (Lexington, Ky.) won first place after defeating Bridget Downs (Lexington, Ky.) and Jaymeson Kinley (Lexington, Ky.), 15-11. Hunter Atherton (Prospect, Ohio) and Julia Brown (Westerville, Ohio) took third.

Kayla Rotundo (Loveland, Ohio) and LeeAnn Starr (Liberty Township, Ohio) took the girls’ U14 title after defeating Ashtin Riveras (Loveland, Ohio) and Emily Wagner (Cincinnati, Ohio), 15-9. Coming in third place was Hannah Bullock (Montgomery, Ind.) and Molly Chilton (Loogootee, Ind.).

Finishing on top of the girls’ U16 division was Kaitlyn Eilenfeld (Mansfield, Ohio) and partner MacKenzie Lauber (Mansfield, Ohio). The pair defeated Paige Hineline (Mason, Ohio) and Miranda Puthoff (Loveland, Ohio), 15-8, while Anna Starr (Liberty Township, Ohio) and partner Rachel Vidourek (Hamilton, Ohio) came in third.

The girls’ U18 division saw Emilee Muzechuk (Mansfield, Ohio) and Morgan Peterson (Mansfield, Ohio) defeat Lauren Verity (Marion, Ohio) and Kendell Queen (Marion, Ohio), 15-12, for the championship. Coming in third was Devyn Hempy (Waldo, Ohio) and Cory Newsom (Marion, Ohio).

 Coming in first place for the boys’ U16 division was Branden Clemens (Carmel, Ind.) and partner Brendan Duff (Lebanon, Ind.) after they defeated Matt Kanetzke (Loveland, Ohio) and Tim Valentine (Cincinnati, Ohio), 15-12. Coming in third place was Jeff Cremeans (Westerville, Ohio) and Evan Feltz (Westerville, Ohio).

In the boys’ U18 Division, Dallas Kaiser (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Christopher Stanislovaitis (West Chester, Ohio) defeated Tyler Carnes (Milford, Ohio) and Logan Williams (Clarksville, Ohio), 15-12, in the championship match. Finishing in third place was Willy Veverka (Atwater, Ohio) and Adam Weaver (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio).

The USA Beach Junior Tour will continue July 17 with the Hawkeye Open in Des Moines, Iowa, and the So Cal Open and High Performance Championships in Long Beach, Calif. It will also host the Great Lakes Open on July 18 in Rochester, N.Y.
