Siesta Key Not Restful for Junior Beach Players

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (July 13, 2010) – Siesta Key, Fla., hosted the USA Volleyball Beach Junior Tour Gulf Coast Open on July 11. The event included four girls’ divisions, under-12, U14, U16 and U18, and four boys’ divisions, U12, U14, U16 and U18.

The Girls’ U12 Division ended with Courtney Krause and her partner Hannah Richards in first place. Lauren Donnelly and Ciara DeBell finished in second while Brianna Doehrman and Haley Coulter finished in third.

Winning the Girls’ U14 Division was Genevieve Beaumier and Megan Canaveri. Kaylie McHugh and her partner Cassidy Bonito finished in second and coming in third was Amanda Karan and Mariah Kent.

In the Girls’ U16 Division, Danika Yoder and Carly Scarbrough walked away with first place while Victoria Penrod and Sophia Servideo came in second. Finishing in third was Nina Pellitteri and Savannah Davis.

The Girls’ U18 Division saw Kayla Joyce and Julie Brown finish in first. Finishing in second was Alexa Stonish and Melanie Pavels while Stephanie Pellitteri and Marissa Marazzi came in third.

The Boy’s U12 Division saw Ben Granath and his partner Eli Rosen finish in first while Cameron Childs and Hunter Moseley finished in second. Coming in third was Jake Kuhlman and Aidan Hancock.

Brandon Lozano and Peter Smirnov took first in the Boy’s U14 Division while Caysie Payne and Quinten Armeda took second place. Coming in third was Joey Aubrey and partner Tyler Smith.

Walking away with first place of the Boys’ U16 Division was Matt Clayton and Tyler Putt. McKenzie Maney and Sam Becker came in second while Nico Tuckfield and Drew VanZwieten finished in third.

Finishing in first of the Boys’ U18 Divison was Michael Palmer and partner Michael McInerney. Coming in second was Kenny McDonald and Kevin Brown and Troy Richards and Johnny Reichenbach finished in third.
