Kessy, Ross to Compete in Marseille

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (July 20, 2010) – The U.S. Beach Team of Jen Kessy and April Ross look to continue their winning ways as they kick off play at the FIVB World Tour World Series 13 on Wednesday  in Marseille, France.

Kessy (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) and Ross (Costa Mesa, Calif.) enter the event fresh off their AVP win at the Hermosa Beach Open and compete to defend their title in Marseille from 2009. The pair, ranked fourth, will open up play against Germany’s 29th-seeded Jana Kohler and Julia Sude, July 21, at 12:10 p.m. (local time).

The other U.S. team to participate in the event was Chara Fehnselfeld Harris (Mishuwaka, Mich.) and Megan Wallin (Sarasota, Fla.), who were ranked 39th in the qualification bracket. The duo opened up play July 20 against Alejandra Simon and Pazo Playa Perez of Spain, ranked 26th. The U.S. team lost to the Spanish pair, 16-21, 12-21 in 37 minutes.
