Kessy, Ross Undefeated on First Day in Marseille

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (July 21, 2010) – The U.S. Beach Team of Jen Kessy and April Ross went undefeated on Wednesday, the first day of the FIVB World Tour World Series 13 in Marseille, France.

Kessy (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) and Ross (Costa Mesa, Calif.) defeated Germany’s 29^th-seeded Jana Kohler and Julia Sude, 21-16, 21-12 in 35 minutes in the first round of play.

The pair then faced 20^th-ranked Annie Martin and Marie-Andree Lessard of Canada and won, 21-11, 21-14 in 37 minutes.

They will open up round three on Thursday playing fifth-seeded Maria Clara Salgado Rufino and Carol Solberg Salgado of Brazil.
