Brown, Russell on the Road to Success

WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. (July 27, 2010) - Aaron Russell (Ellicott City, MD) and Parker Brown (Corona Del Mar, Calif.) are taking on their third year within the USA Volleyball High Performance pipeline.

Brown and Russell participated in the 2009 USAV Holiday Camp together in Colorado Springs, and are now making their third appearance in the USAV High Performance Championships and competing on the U.S. Boys’ Youth A2 Red Team.

The athletes share pride in representing their country through playing for Team USA and have enjoyed their careers thus far within the pipeline.

Stalls Inspires Players to Give Their All

WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. (July 27, 2010) - Meg Riley (St. Louis, Mo.) and Maya Midzik (Brookline, Mass.) are members of the U.S. Women's Junior Continental Team competing in the 2010 USA Volleyball High Performance Championships located in Wisconsin Dells, Wis., from July 26-30.

These two young ladies feel honored to have the unique opportunity of having Tracy Stalls (Denver, Colo.), a member of the U.S. Women’s National team since 2003, as their assistant coach.

When I found out who my coach was going to be, I called my parents and started screaming with excitement, Riley said.

Day Two Results at USAV HP Championships

WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. (July 27, 2010) – The USA Volleyball High Performance Championships (HPC) is contesting six brackets July 26 to July 30 at Wisconsin Dells, Wis.

After the second day of competition, the top teams are starting to sort themselves out. The HPC features an international theme with some variations of FIVB rules. Matches are best-of-five sets format with most teams playing eight matches during the event. The tournament will utilize some new FIVB rules such as the primary and secondary libero.

A total of 87 teams are competing in the USA Volleyball High Performance Championships’ six different age and gender championship brackets taking place on 14 courts at the Chula Vista Resort. The USA Volleyball High Performance Championships, which featured a tournament-record 92 teams in 2009, combines the best teams from USAV High Performance Pipeline teams, USAV Region High Performance Teams and international squads in the marquee event.
