COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (July 30, 2010) – The Federation Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) has created a new online system for its international transfer procedure that will go into effect for the 2010-2011 season, thus eliminating the paper format.
Another significant change is that the FIVB Confederations, as decided by the FIVB Board of Administration in 2009, will serve as the governing body of all transfers between National Federations inside their Confederation such as NORCECA.
“A lot of work has been put in by the FIVB to develop this new procedure, with the cooperation of a few selected National Federations” FIVB Sports Events Council President Theofanis Tsiokris said in a letter to all National Federations including USA Volleyball. “The clubs and players database has been cleaned and a lot of thought has been put into it, in order to make the system as user-friendly as possible. As with all new projects, there may be slight modifications to be made at the beginning and we count on your understanding, cooperation and assistance. Should you have any comments or suggested improvements, please get back to us.”
The new online system will open on Aug. 1, 2010, for the creation of international transfers for the 2010-2011 season. All National Federations received FIVB login and passwords on July 16 and will get acquainted with the system through July 31. During this stage, each National Federation is responsible for creating the user accounts for each of its respective clubs and players. The system contains information on clubs received from each National Federation during the preparation phase. With respect to new clubs and players, a new profile needs to created in the system by the respective National Federation.
For United States players wishing to start the online international transfer procedure, contact USA Volleyball Manager of International Programs Carla Hall at Carla.Hall@usav.org to request a username and password.
