Loomis, Patterson Win Fourth Wide Open Title

POINT PLEASANT, N.J. (Aug. 22, 2010) – Ty Loomis and Casey Patterson picked up their fourth Corona Light Wide Open title of the season, defeating the Austin, Texas, team of Colin Kaslow and Tim Wooliver, 15-7, in action Sunday at Jenkinson’s Inlet in Point Pleasant Beach.

Loomis (Hermosa Beach, Calif.) and Patterson (Huntington Beach, Calif.) are undefeated on the Wide Open Tour.

Dana Fiume and Ola Wolack, both from Long Beach, N.Y., won the Women’s Open division Sunday, ousting Christina Hinds and JoAnna Papageoriou from Beverly Hills, Calif., in the championship match.

In the amateur divisions, Brett Greiner (East Northport, N.Y.) and Daniel Vaccariello (Parlin, N.J.) won the Men’s A title, while Joseph Ward (Sewell, N.J.) and Ryan Yakabosky (Medford, N.J.) took the title in the Men’s AA division. The Men’s B winners were Tyler Buxton (Stonington, Conn.) and John Mihalko (Taftville, Conn.).

The Women’s AA division winners were Audrey Tutus (Green Brook, N.J.) and Mary Hoang (Metuchen,N.J.). Lisa Hoang (Metuchen, N.J.) and Lenny Jimenez-Delorbe (Piscataway, N.J.) took the title in the Women’s A division and Kimberly Hinson (League City, Texas) and Karen Annette Beatty (Missouri City, Texas) won the women’s B division title.

Winners in up to eight of the two-person divisions earn an automatic berth in to the 2010 U.S. Open of Beach Volleyball, which will be played Sept. 24-26 in Manhattan Beach, Calif.
