U.S. Men's Beach Team Falls in Bronze Medal Match

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Sept. 29, 2010) – Two U.S. beach volleyball teams fought hard but were shut out of the medals at the NORECA Beach Circuit even on Sept. 24-26 in Tijuana, Mexico.
The U.S. men’s team of Joey Dykstra (Hermosa Beach, Calif.) and Aaron Mansfield (Goleta, Calif.) made it to the Sept. 25 bronze medal match where it fell to the Mexico-2 team of Ulises Ontiveros and Lombardo Ontiveros, 2-1 (19-21, 21-18, 15-13).
In the semifinals, Dykstra and Mansfield fell to the Cuban team of Kinderlan Alvarez and Sergio Gonzalez, 21-12, 21-16.
The U.S. women’s team of Aurora Skarra (Fairbanks, Alaska) and Kelly Haan (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) did not make it to the semifinal round.
