COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Dec. 9, 2010) – The USA Volleyball Indoor High Performance Department has announced its 2011 High Performance Girls’ Tryout schedule with at least 39 tryouts spread across the country.

The High Performance tryout schedule starts on Feb. 18 with evaluations taking place in Washington, D.C., Tampa, Fla., Omaha, Neb., and San Mateo, Calif. The final tryouts are schedule for April 21 in Dallas, Baltimore and Kansas City.

Five tryouts are identified as recommended tryouts for Junior athletes to attend. These events coincide with appropriate age group competitions and staffing will specifically anticipate Junior player attendance. The tryouts are Denver (March 17), Atlanta (March 26), Anaheim, Calif. (April 3), Baltimore (April 15) and Dallas (April 21).

Registration will open later this month. The tryout fee is $65 by pre-registering online, walk-up registration costs $100 per athlete, so early registration saves each tryout participant $35. Hardcopy pre-registration is available via fax or e-mail of scanned registration form for $75. All pre-registration closes the third day prior to the tryout at 6 a.m. MST. For example, registration would close Thursday at 6 a.m. for a tryout on the following Sunday. Refunds for withdrawing from a tryout will be given upon request, less $20 for administrative costs.

Athletes may attend more than one tryout. The full tryout fee applies to each tryout attended. The number of tryouts an athlete attends usually will not affect her evaluation; attending more than one tryout is recommended only if your first tryout performance was below your standard performance.
