USAV Reveals Beach HP Holiday Camp Rosters

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Dec. 9, 2010) – USA Volleyball has announced the rosters for the 2010 Beach Holiday High Performance Camps.

The West Camp for girls and boys born 1992-1995 will take place Dec. 27-30 at the Arco Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif. The East Camp for girls born 1992-97 will be held at the Bayhead Athletic Complex in Largo, Fla., on the same dates.

Athletes were invited based on their performance at the USAV Beach High Performance Tryouts, the USA Beach Junior Tour, and select USAV sanctioned events.

USAV’s own Jon Aharoni, who coached 2010 U19 World Champions Summer Ross and Jane Croson, will serve as the head coach and camp director in Chula Vista.

Other coaches at the West Camp will be 2009 FIVB World Champion April Ross, 2000 Olympic beach volleyball coach Anna Collier, FIVB Master Clinician Hayden Jones, as well as BCAP certified coaches Patricia Daugherty and Brady Compton.

U21 World Champions Summer Ross and Tara Roenicke will participate as training athletes and will discuss their road to the world championship.

FIVB silver medalist Tyra Turner will serve as the head coach in Largo. She will be assisted by BCAP certified coaches Dave Carstenson, AVP Young Guns Champion Kristen Batt, Joe Rohr, and AVP Young Guns Champion Kim Whitney.

Special focus will be on core strength training for the beach game.

There are still a few spots available at the East camp. Qualified female athletes should send an email to: ali.wood@usav.org. Please Include your top two beach accomplishments.
