COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (March 9, 2011) – The USA Volleyball Coaching Education Department has instituted a new method to obtain Coaching Accreditation Program (CAP) Level I course credit.
USA Volleyball hosted three CAP Level I Hybrid courses in January 2011. The hybrid CAP I consists of a single all in the gym day covering all on-court topics, combined with finishing the required classroom based topics online via live and/or recorded sessions. All other CAP Level I requirements remain the same.
The Puget Sound Region hosted two of the hybrid course dates in the Seattle area on Jan. 15 and Jan. 16, while the Starlings USA organization hosted a single day on Jan. 9 in San Diego following its annual Starlings Coaches Convention.
“While we still believe that the total course presented in a face-to-face format is the most impactful for attending coaches, the hybrid CAP I course was created for those Regions and other hosts who wish to host a course, but have limited facility time available, as well as for the time and travel crunched coach who wishes to achieve CAP Level I certification,” USA Volleyball Coaching Education Department Director Diana Cole said. “Attending on-site for just one day rather than the traditional two days and following up with on-line training makes attending CAP that much more convenient for coaches.”
Those interested in hosting a traditional or new hybrid format CAP I this Spring or Summer should contact cap@usav.org or click here for more information on hosting a CAP Course.
