COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (March 11, 2011) – Registration for the 2011 NCVF National Collegiate Club Volleyball Championships is now closed with a record 336 teams slated to compete in nine divisions. Due to the high volume of interested teams to participate in the tournament, USA Volleyball and the NCVF expanded the tournament to include an additional division for both the men and women.

The National Collegiate Volleyball Federation (NCVF,) in cooperation with USA Volleyball (USAV), will host the 2011 NCVF Collegiate Club Volleyball Championship Tournament in Houston at Reliant Park from April 7-9.

The 2011 edition of the championships is the second year the tournament has taken the NCVF name. The tournament field includes 180 men’s teams and 156 women’s teams separated into nine divisions. This marks a 70-team increase from last year’s 266 college teams.

The championship tournament provides five divisions for men and four divisions for women. Men will have brackets in Division I (48 teams), IAA (36 teams), IAAA (24 teams), Division II (48 teams) and Division III (24 teams). Women will have brackets in Division I (48 teams), IAA (48 teams), IAAA (36 teams), and Division II (24 teams). For the completed list of accepted teams in all divisions click here.

Seeding for the Championships is determined by the ranking committee for each Division by examining criteria provided by the commissioners, team representatives and past results.

All-Tournament Team, most valuable player and honorable mention awards will be given for outstanding individual performances showcased throughout the weekend. These awards are chosen by the Championship Committee and presented at the end of the tournament.
