COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (March 18, 2011) – Do you know the real facts behind USA Volleyball’s "Stay and Play" policy? Want to learn more on the program or have your questions answered?

If you are confused with how "Stay and Play" benefits the teams, then USA Volleyball has a solution. Join USA Volleyball and THS (www.thsweb.com), USAV’s housing company, in an hour-long webinar as they discuss the truths and dispose of misleading rumors of "Stay and Play."

USA Volleyball invites club directors, coaches, parents and anyone interested in the “Stay and Play” policy to register for the hour-long webinar set for March 28 at 7 p.m. MT (9 p.m. ET, 8 p.m. CT and 6 p.m. PT). The webinar panel will include THS’s Kelli Orpen and Danni Sacco-Tufaro, with USA Volleyball Manager of Region Services Programs Donise King serving as the moderator. The webinar will discuss the policy and why it is utilized, while also providing an open forum for discussion and questions.

Registration for the webinar is open and can be found by clicking here. Space is limited, so registering early is strongly suggested.

“The "Stay and Play" webinar that is being developed by the USAV Region Services Department in conjunction with THS will be a great tool in helping to explain the Stay and Play policy and hopefully assuage any concerns regarding its implementation,” USA Volleyball Manager of Events Barbara Eisenbeis said. “The information in the presentation will help the Regions to better understand the policy and assist them in explaining it, while providing specific information for clubs and parents alike. The USA Volleyball Events Department is excited for the development of this tool to help educate the volleyball community.”

USA Volleyball is in its third season using the “Stay and Play” policy for its three national championships. The policy states that each team registering for Nationals must make its hotel reservations through THS at an approved USA Volleyball hotel to be eligible to participate in the championships. For the “Stay and Play” policy full description, please click here.

The “Stay and Play” policy is put in place for USAV National events only. Other large events, including USAV qualifiers, may have their own housing policy with different criteria. Through the policy, THS guarantees the lowest group-rate prices for teams and potential for comped rooms. Club directors can ask to have hotels that are not on the “approved” THS housing list to be added, ensuring that all housing arrangements benefit the team, coaching staff and families first.

Please direct registration questions to USAV Assistant for Region Services Programs Patty Fadum (patty.fadum@usav.org). For questions about the webinar or the discussion topic, please contact Donise King (donise.king@usav.org) or USA Volleyball Senior Director Margie Mara (margie.mara@usav.org).
