USAV HP Announces Boys’ Select Program Rosters

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (May 17, 2011) – The USA Volleyball Indoor High Performance Department is pleased to announce the rosters for its Boys’ Select A1, Boys’ Select A2 and Boys’ Select Continental Teams that will train in preparation for the USA Volleyball High Performance Championships in Tucson, Ariz.

The three programs will train together in Tucson from July 20 to July 25, then compete in the USAV High Performance Championship from July 26 to July 30.  All finals for the Boys’ Divisions will take place on July 29.

The National Select Program is designed specifically as an introduction to the USA Volleyball National Team system. It is intended to mirror the training and competition that USA athletes will experience as they move up to the U.S. Boys’ Youth National Team, U.S. Men’s Junior National Team and the U.S. Men’s National Team.

The HP Boys’ Select program is constructed for athletes born in 1995 or 1996. Ken Shibuya, the assistant men’s volleyball coach at Stanford University, will serve as the HP Boys’ Select program head coach with different assists serving at all three team levels.
