Balboa Bay, Puerto Rico Take 16s Gold at BJNC

MINNEAPOLS, Minn. (July 5, 2011) –Balboa Bay 16 Quiksilver (Southern California) and Vaqueros 16-1  (Puerto Rico) captured the 16 Open and 16 Club Division titles, respectively, Tuesday afternoon at the USA Volleyball Boys’ Junior National Championships held at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

The 2011 USA Volleyball Boys’ Junior National Championships, which began on June 29, concludes on Wednesday with the 17 Open and 17 Club championships.

West Allis Lightning MVP Return from Broken Back at BJNC

MINNEAPOLS, Minn. (July 5, 2011) –Many things can stop players from playing volleyball. For Trevor Novotny, a fractured back isn’t one of them.

One year ago Trevor Novotny was named the most valuable player of the 2010 USA Volleyball Boys’ Junior National Championship 16 Open Division after leading his West Allis Lightning B16-1 (Badger Region) team to the gold medal.

Just a few short months later Novotny suffered a fractured back during competition at the USA Volleyball High Performance Holiday Camp in Poway, Calif. Now he is back at the USAV BJNC and his team is on its way to defending its title

Both the 17 Club and 17 Open division medal matches will take place Wednesday on the Championship Court in the Minneapolis Convention Center. The matches will be streamed live atwww.usavolleyball.org/live.
