USA Today Honors U.S. Men's Beach Volleyball Teams

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (July 26, 2011) – USA Today has honored three U.S. men’s beach volleyball teams as its athletes of the week for sweeping the podium on Sunday at the FIVB Swatch Quebec Open in Canada.

It was the first time in the 23-year history of the FIVB World Tour that U.S. men’s teams swept the podium.

Phil Dalhausser (Ormond Beach, Fla.) and Todd Rogers (Santa Barbara, Calif.) captured the gold medal while Matt Fuerbringer (Costa Mesa, Calif.) and Nick Lucena (Santa Barbara, Calif.) took silver and Jake Gibb (Bountiful, Utah) and Sean Rosenthal (Redondo Beach, Calif.) seized the bronze.
