COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (July 14, 2009) – The U.S. Women’s Sitting Volleyball team bounced back from Monday’s loss with an impressive 3-0 win over Finland (25-21, 25-13, 25-18) on Tuesday at the 2009 Eurocup Sitting Volleyball Championship in Roermond, Netherlands.

The U.S. team dominated the Fins in all aspects of the game. "We played very relaxed and confident today," U.S. Head Coach Bill Hamiter (Bethany, Okla.) said. "Our goal was to play aggressive and we certainly achieved what we set out to do."

Leading the Americans, who now stand 2-1 in pool play, was Lora Webster with 14 total points on six blocks, six kills and two aces. Brenda Maymon had 10 points on four blocks, four kills and two aces.

Next up for Team USA is Slovenia, which beat the Americans on Monday in a hard-fought, five-set battle. Seeding for the Wednesday afternoon’s championship bracket will be decided by the match against Slovenia.
