U.S. Beach Teams Competing on NORCECA Circuit

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Oct. 3, 2009) - The U.S. women's beach volleyball team of Beth Van Fleet (Tampa, Fla.) and Saralyn Smith (Key West, Fla.) got off to a good start on Friday at the NORCECA Beach Circuit event in Manzanillo, Mexico, defeating Yarleen Santiago and Darian Acevedo of Puerto Rico, 20-22 and 15-21.

In the men's bracket, the U.S. beach team of Seth Burnham (Santa Cruz, Calif.) and Marcin Jagoda  (Tarzana, Calif.) fell to the Mexico 3 team of Malik Colossio and Pedro Arenas,  14-21, 21-16, 15-17.

The teams will play again Saturday at Maeva Stadium.
