U.S. Men’s National Team Head Coach Hugh McCutcheon took a few minutes to look back at his team’s gold-medal performance at the NORCECA Men’s Continental Championship on Sept. 16-21 in Anaheim. The U.S. Men went 5-0 to win the tournament and dropped only two sets along the way. Yet McCutcheon did not think his team played its best volleyball until its 3-1 (25-20, 23-25, 25-22, 25-23) victory over Puerto Rico in the final. MORE

THAILAND FINAL STOP ON FIVB BEACH TOUR

Six international greats of volleyball were honored here in the birthplace of the sport on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007. TUCSON HOSTS 2008 USA HIGH PERFORMANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS

USA Volleyball announced that Tucson will host its 2008 USA Volleyball High Performance Championships on July 23-27. Matches will take place on 15 courts in the Tucson Convention Center exhibition halls and arena in downtown Tucson. The event is expected to have a $2.4 million economic impact on Tucson. MORE

PAT AND HOWARD McCHESNEY HONORED
On Oct. 12, Pat and Howard McChesney were honored for all their years supporting Richardson Pearce High School (Texas) volleyball games. The Macs were presented with several gifts, including a volleyball autographed by the USA National Team. A personal letter sent from Doug Beal, USA Volleyball chief executive officer, was read out loud to the crowd which touched off a few tears.

The Initial Nominating and Governance Committee of USA Volleyball (USAV) is now accepting and nominees applicants for the newly restructured board of directors. The USA Volleyball (USAV) Board of Directors unanimously approved a motion to restructure itself at its winter meeting held Jan. 12-14 in Colorado Springs, Colo. MORE
