Looking ahead
For this entire decade, USA Volleyball's High Performance Programs have grown in number of participants, number of camps and success rate for our USA National High Performance Teams.  From HP Tryouts, all the way to our Men's and Women's Olympic Teams, USAV's National athlete pipeline is healthier than it has ever been - with a shine of Gold and Silver. 

In 2009, we are looking to finish off the decade with all four USA National HP Teams competing in their respective World Championships, and an even greater number of training opportunities for athletes who attend HP Tryouts. 

This will be only the second time in USA Volleyball history that all four USA HP National Teams will compete in World Championships.   Continue to watch the website for the teams' progression through the competitions:

• USA Men's Junior National Team- 2009 FIVB Junior World Championships- India, Competition Dates: July 31- Aug. 9
• USA Women's Junior National Team- 2009 FIVB Junior World Championships- Mexico, Competition Dates: July 16 - 25
• USA Boys' Youth National Team - 2009 FIVB Youth World Championships- Site Italy, Competition Dates: Aug. 28 - Sept. 6
• USA Girls' Youth National Team - 2009 FIVB Youth World Championships- Site Thailand, Competition Dates: July 3 - 12

In 2009, HP Championships (HPCs) return to Ft. Lauderdale, FL, the site of our first combined HPC site.  Training for USA Teams (BSA1, BYA2, GSA1, WJA2, and GYA2) will be held July 16-21, with competition following from July 22-26.  This is an international event, with teams from outside the United States attending.

Each year USA High Performance strives to expand and enhance the training and competition opportunities available to our HP tryout participants, and 2008 was a banner year to this end.  In 2008, we were able to run 20 camps across the country and hope to expand that number in 2009 to give more opportunities to a greater number of athletes.
