ENDOWMENT PROGRAM

To become the best in the world...you have to first commit to being the best.

The commitment of our athletes, coaches and staff is unquestioned and the Gold and Silver medal performances of our Olympic teams in Beijing recaptured the preeminence in the sport for the United States that we had achieved in the 1984, 1988 and 1992 Games.

What will it take to keep us on the medal stand?

USA Volleyball must equal or exceed the commitment of other countries in its development of elite athletes at the Youth and Junior National Team level.  This means committing the financial resources necessary to provide our younger athletes with the very best coaching, training and competitive experiences.

Since 1997, USA Volleyball has sent teams to the NORCECA Zonal Championships every two years (e.g. 2006 and 2008) which is the qualifying event for the World Championships each following year (e.g. 2007 and 2009). In 2008, all four of our teams qualified for the 2009 FIVB World Championships... the third consecutive time that all four youth and junior teams have qualified for the Worlds! Yet the demands on the limited resources of USA Volleyball are extensive, from Beach and Indoor National Teams, to Coaching Education, Grassroots Development, Paralympic Teams, and National Governance.  Program funding for the Youth and Junior National Teams is never assured from year-to-year.

You can help to ensure that the funding for these teams is always there by making a tax-deductible contribution to the YOUTH AND JUNIOR NATIONAL TEAMS ENDOWMENT FUNDS. The goal is to raise $3,200,000 dollars for the purpose of fully endowing each of these four funds in the amount of $800,000, at which point interest only on principal would fully support each of these Teams on an annual basis. No portion of the funds donated to the endowment shall be used for operational expenses until such time the funds are fully endowed.

Donations may be designated to go toward any one or more of the funds. Undesignated donations shall be deposited equally into all four funds.

These high performance development programs are the keys to USA Volleyball achieving sustained competitive success in the Olympic Games and other International competitions.
