USAV Boys Scholastic Grant Program
Grant Name: USAV Boys Scholastic Grant Program
Who May Apply:
Grant funds are available only in states that have formed a partnership with the state athletic association, the Regional Volleyball Association, and USA Volleyball. State specific grant details and a list of states offering USAV Boys Scholastic Grants are listed below. Within those states any public school, or private school that is a member of the state athletic association, that is starting a boys volleyball team that may lead to the sanctioning of boys volleyball as a varsity sport within that state may be eligible for grants.
Synopsis of Grant:
The grants vary from state to state. Generally varsity high school boys teams have precedence over middle school or elementary school teams. Grants may be one-time start-up grants or multiple year grants depending on the state. Amounts of the grants and allocations of the grants vary among states, but often involve $500 per year payments spread over three consecutive years.
Requirements:
A USAV Boys Scholastic Grant Application Form must be completed and submitted by the deadline established in each state for consideration. Teams must maintain a varsity level program for at least three consecutive years. Teams must register for and compete in the state qualifying tournament process. The head coach must register as a member of the state volleyball coaches association or be actively involved in creating such an organization. An annual review of the season must be submitted including roster, email addresses, season schedule, season record, and video, DVD, or electronic photography from the season. The team must also work to promote boys volleyball within their region and provide documentation of fund raising efforts throughout their season. Failure to meet these guidelines may result in repayment of a prorated amount of the grant.
