CAP Late Fee Policy
New CAP Policy:
CAP participants who have not completed their CAP certification within the one year deadline (expiring on their course anniversary date) must pay an increasing penalty every year thereafter in order to finish their certification. The penalty scale is as follows:
- 1) If certification requirements are completed within 12 months of the initial course date, no penalty occurs.
- 2) After 12 months past the course date, the participant may still complete their certification with a late charge of $50
- 3) After 24 months past the course date, the participant may still complete their CAP certification with a late charge of $100
- 4) After 36 months past the course date, the participant can still complete their CAP certification with a late charge of $150
- 5) After the four year anniversary of the course date, the participant must re-take the course to obtain the certification; new course requirements must then be completed within 12 months or penalties will again apply.
Since this is a recent change in policy those pursuing their CAP certification will only be charged the first $50 to complete their certification if the requirements are met by Dec 31, 2007. After that date, The late charges will apply effective Jan. 1, 2008. If you have any questions about this policy please contact cap@usav.org.
