HP Programs

A1 / National Team Programs

This is the National level of the USA Volleyball High Performance Program. This level consists of Men's and Women's National Teams (often refered to as "Senior National Team" for differentiation), Men's and Women's Junior National Teams (MJNT, WJNT), Boys' and Girls' Youth National Teams (BYNT, GYNT) and Boys' and Girls' Select A1 camps (BSA1, GSA1). Junior and Youth Teams include the top 19 athletes per gender and age group chosen from High Performance Tryouts.

USA Men's National Team

Male athletes born after 1993 who are interested in playing for the USA Men's National Team should contact Gary Moy, Manager of USAV National Teams at gary.moy@usav.org.

USA Women's National Team

Athletes who have concluded their college eligibility and who wish to be invited may be offered to become a member of the USA Women's National Team for various training blocks or on a full-time basis. This program could begin as early as the spring of that year or when an athlete's scholastic or professional club season has conculded.

USA Junior and Youth National Teams

The MJNT, WJNT, BYNT, and GYNT will represent the USA at the NORCECA Zonal Championships in the summer of 2012. USAV covers all program costs for these 4 programs.

Girls' Youth National Team

Athletes for the team attending the European Global Challenge and the USA Volleyball High Performance Championships will be selected from the USAV HP tryouts this spring. The team that will attend the NORCECA Continental Championship will be selected from the group of athletes invited to attend the second tryout. Athletes selected to the second tryout or either program will be posted online with the rest of the tryout results May 3 - 11, 2012.

Holiday Camps

Holiday Camp programs are hosted by USA Volleyball High Performance from December 26 - December 30 of each year. The 48-athlete girls' camp is offered at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs and the boys' camp is offered usually at a location in California. Holiday Camp participation is offered by invitation only, and invitations are extended only to the athletes in each age group who have ben identified as the top volleyball players in the country in their respective position. Most players for these camps come from our National Teams, A1, and A2 Programs, although some invitations will go to the top players at A3 camps, as determined by summer program evaluations. Athletes who did not participate in a summer program are also eligible. Holiday Camps are a very high level camp and feature some of the very top level coaches in the HP Coaches' Pipeline.

A2 Programs

A2 Programs consist of the top 10-40 athletes per gender and age group who were not selected to their respective A1 or National Team Program. The A2 Program is an essential component to the success of the HP Pipeline and the National Teams, as many athletes who train and compete in the A2 Program progress to a National Team program in subsequent years.

Continental Teams

The Continental Team Program consists of the top 33 athletes of each gender who did not make their respective A2 Program AND who come from a USAV Region that does not offer a Region High Performance Program (click here to find out if your Region offers a program). Continental Teams will train for 5 days and then compete at the USAV HP Championships (HPC's) in Des Moines, Iowa in July. This is an international event with teams from outside the United States attending. Head coaches will be assigned by USAV from its Coaches Pipeline and assistant coaches will be assigned by recommendations from Regions.
