U.S. Men's Sitting Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (May 19, 2022) – The U.S. Men’s Sitting Team is opening the 2022 season north of the border with a series of friendly matches against Canada.

The U.S. Men’s Sitting Team will play a total of six matches against Canada. In their first match on Thursday, the U.S. Men won 2-1 (25-18, 25-17, 21-25).

The U.S. will have a new face on its limited roster of seven players: Ali Allami, who immigrated to the United States from Iraq and is now a U.S. citizen, will make his competitive debut with the team.

U.S. Head Coach Greg Walker could not make the trip, so Assistant Coach Joe Skinner will lead the team’s coaches and support personnel.

“I am really looking forward to seeing this team on the court,” Skinner said. “We need every opportunity to compete before the World Championships in November.”

The teams are playing the friendly matches at Canada’s junior national championships. The matches are scheduled to be live streamed on YouTube starting on Friday.
