COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (May 26, 2022) – Almost 350 adult teams are assembling in Orlando, Fla. For the 2022 USA Volleyball Open National Championship, which begins Friday at the Orlando Convention Center.
This is the 92nd edition of the longest-running tournament in the United States. Teams will compete in 20 different divisions, including Men’s 70 & older and Women’s 50 & over. Approximately 3,600 athletes are registered to compete.
The USA Volleyball Open National began in 1928 as a men’s event under the U.S. Volleyball Association (later USA Volleyball). Women’s teams were added in 1949. It is now one of the country’s premier recreational volleyball tournaments for adults.
It has been held every year since 1928 except for a two-year break during World War II and a cancellation in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic.
All courts at the USA Volleyball Open National Championship will be streamed live on BallerTV, which is a subscription service. Four selected courts will be streamed for free at USAVolleyball.org.
Players and fans are encouraged to follow and engage in social media detailing their tournament experience by using the hashtag #usavopen. USA Volleyball will be posting social media content to its Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and Snapchat platforms under the handle @USAVolleyball.
