COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (April 15, 2016) – If you had to choose, which of your five senses would you choose to live without? Which actor or actress would play you in a movie? If you could be any animal, what would you choose?
U.S. Sitting Team athletes Nichole Millage (Champaign, Illinois) and John Kremer (Buford, Georgia) recently took time out of their busy schedules to answer five randomly-selected questions. Think you know these sitting athletes? You may be surprised by some of their answers.

- Which of the five senses would you say is your strongest? OR which sense could you live without?
I would say my strongest sense is my sight. I am a very observant person; sometimes too observant! I am always watching people to see how they how they behave, what they say and what they do. I love people watching. I wouldn’t want to live without any of my senses, but if I had to choose, I’d probably say smell. - What is your favorite childhood memory?
I was one of the oldest grandchildren in my family so I was able to spend a lot of quality time with my grandparents. I consider myself lucky to have had that “extra” time with them. I used to hang out on my grandparents’ farm & help them with their garden. - If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be?
My ideal day is spent at the beach with my best friend. First we’d take a bike ride down the coast, then hit up a taco stand and then lie out on the beach to work on our tans. - What motivates you to work hard?
I have an inner drive that pushes me to want to work hard, in both my work life and in volleyball. I take pride in accomplishing my tasks and goals, and I find it very rewarding. With regards to the Women’s Sitting Team, we know that if we keep working hard, then it will pay off, like it did in China when we finally won gold against Team China. That gold medal was a directly result of hard work. - Who is your hero?
I would say that my heroes are hard-working, smart, successful women. For example, I admire and I am inspired by athletes like Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings. They work so hard on & off the court…they are determined individuals. They are proof that if you work hard and maintain your focus, then you can achieve your goals.
John Kremer
Position: Libero
Nature of disability: Bilateral below the knee amputee after stepping on a land mine in 2010 while serving with the Navy
Joined the U.S. Men’s Sitting Team: 2015
- Would you rather vacation in Hawaii or Alaska?
Since I have been to both places, I would have to say Alaska. I like the outdoors and love being in the wilderness. I also like cold weather too, so that helps. - What would you change about yourself and why?
I think that I would like my feet back. Just to be able to feel the ground with my feet again would be awesome. But other than that I would not change anything. - What’s the most unusual thing I have eaten?
I think the most unusual thing I have ever eaten was snails. I didn’t like the texture of them, but other than that they were not that bad. - Who would I want to play me in a movie?
I’d like Mark Wahlberg to play me. I like all of the movies he has done, and I think he is a good actor. And I think he’d be the best fit. - If I had to describe myself as an animal what would it be?
I would have to say Bengal tiger. I’m not sure why but I’ve always just found them fascinating.
