COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (April 7, 2022) – USA Volleyball’s National Team Development Program (NTDP) has revealed the 21 players and six coaches who will comprise the 2022 Boys Under-19 National Training Team.
The group will practice at the national team training center on May 11-20 in Anaheim, Calif.
Twelve players from the group will be chosen to compete at the 2022 Boys U19 Pan Am Cup on May 21-29 in Guatemala, City, Guatemala.
Charlie Sullivan, head coach of the Springfield College men’s volleyball team, will serve as the U19 team’s head coach.
“I am so excited to work with the U19 National Team this summer,” Sullivan said. “Thank you to U.S. Men’s Head Coach John Speraw and his staff for trusting me and the coaches with this opportunity. The task will be to work hard and represent USA Volleyball in an exceptional manner in everything we do. We are thrilled to hold training alongside the Men’s and Women’s National Teams in Anaheim as they prepare for their international competitions.”
Sullivan’s assistant coaches will be Lindsay Brown (Assistant Coach, Purdue Fort Wayne) and Theo Edwards (Associate Head Coach, CSUN).
The team’s performance analyst will be Jon Parry (Technical Coordinator, LBSU) and the team leader will be Sam Shweisky (Head Coach, Princeton). Athletic trainer Rachel Menze will also travel with the team.
The roster includes 13 players from the Southern California Region, three from the Florida Region, two from the Southern Region and one each from Arizona, Great Lakes and Old Dominion.
