Matt Fuerbringer is returning to USA Volleyball to serve as a full-time assistant coach for the U.S. Men’s National Team under Head Coach John Speraw.

Marv Dunphy to be Given Frier Award at Hall of Fame Ceremony

Dunphy will become the 52nd winner of the Harold T. Friermood “Frier” Award, which recognizes longtime significant contributions to volleyball, at the USA Volleyball Hall of Fame ceremony at the Dorothy C. Boyce Banquet on May 25 in Orlando, Fla. The Frier Award is considered USA Volleyball’s highest honor.

Retirement Series: Kim Hill

Kim Hill is a two-time Olympian and Olympic medalist who started with the team in 2013 after being “discovered” at the U.S. Women’s Open Tryout (now the U.S. Women’s National Team Open Program). A year later, she was named MVP of the 2014 FIVB World Championship as the U.S. took gold.

Hurler Bringing Talents to U.S. Women’s NT Staff

USA Volleyball has hired Brian Hurler to serve as performance analyst for the Olympic gold medal winning U.S. Women’s National Team. Hurler joins USAV from Stanford where he served as the technical coordinator for the women’s volleyball team for two seasons.

Retirement Series: Nichole Millage

We continue our athlete retirement series by honoring Nichole Millage of the U.S. Women’s Sitting Team. Nichole is a four-time Paralympic medalist who started with the team in 2005, less than a year after the team won a surprise bronze medal at the 2004 Athens Paralympic Games. She was named an alternate for the team that competed at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games, but then got the surprise call to play and won her second Paralympic gold medal.
