PERSONAL: Born Roderick Dal-Juan Green on March 16, 1979 in West Monroe, La... Parents are the late Ben Green Sr. and Lucille Green... Has six brothers and seven sisters... Roderick met his wife, Katrin, at the 2004 Paralympics where they were both track athletes. Katrin was competing for Germany. Roderick won the gold medal for a relay. Katrin won the gold medal in the 200 meters at the 2008 Paralympics in Beijing. Roderick serves as her coach... Roderick won the silver medal in the 200 meters, a bronze medal in the 400 meters, and a bronze medal in the long jump at the 2000 Paralympic Games in Sydney Australia... Roderick graduated from West Monroe High School in 1997 and received a degree in Physical Education and Nutrition from Oklahoma Christian University in 2002... He played basketball for three years in college.
MAJOR INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION: 2011- Parapan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico (silver)... Competed in July in the 2011 Continental Cup in Kettering, England. 2010 – Helped the U.S. Men's Sitting Team to 10th place at Sitting World Championships in Oklahoma... Parapan American Championship in Denver, Colo. (Silver Medal)…WOWD World Cup in Port Said, Egypt (Fifth Place). 2009 – Parapan American Championship in Montreal, Canada (Gold Medal). 2007 – Parapan American Games in Rio de Janiero, Brazil (Silver Medal).
INTERNATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS: 2011 - Roderick played with the U.S. men's sitting team during its eighth-place finish at the 2011 Continental Cup in Kettering, England. Roderick was part of the team that competed in two exhibition matches against Canada in a joint training camp that won both matches. 2010 – Roderick played in 24 sets at the Sitting World Championships and tallied 18 kills, 0.75 per set, and five stuff blocks, 0.21 per set. His five total service aces, 0.21 per set, was good enough for the teams' second best.
