The Gold Standard

With three Olympic gold medals, the U.S. Men’s National Team has set the standard atop the Olympic podium. No other country has won more golds. The Americans also won Olympic bronze medals in 1992 and 2016. The U.S. has struck gold in both the FIVB World Championship (1986) and FIVB World Cup (1985, 2015) and has also medaled in Volleyball Nations League, including silver in 2022 and 2023. The U.S. Men have finished with gold or silver in every NORCECA Championship they’ve participated in since 1981, making the U.S. Men’s National Team one of the most successful in the world.

Recent Medals

  • 2023 Road to Paris Olympic Qualifier – First (World Cup)
  • 2023 NORCECA Continental Championship – Gold
  • 2023 NORCECA Pan American Cup Final Six – Gold

John Speraw talks to Aaron Russell

They Said It

Head Coach John Speraw, on arriving in Paris

“We arrived in the village where I think for me personally it really set in that the Olympics are here. The excitement of the being in the village and seeing all the athletes and really understanding the task at hand; the excitement to go out and compete. I think we’re ready to do that. This is a veteran team that has been in this position before and understands the uniqueness of the Olympic competitive environment.”
