COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (April 5, 2019) – It is not too late for college beach volleyball pairs to register for the USA Volleyball Collegiate Beach Championships, part of the 2019 Team USA Championships Series, presented by Xfinity, on May 8-11 in Hermosa Beach, Calif.

The Collegiate Beach Championships give women’s and men’s collegiate beach volleyball pairs a chance to shine and gets top athletes in the national team pipeline.

“The CBC is a great opportunity to compete at the highest level of collegiate competition in a great setting of beach volleyball here in Hermosa Beach, Calif.,” said Tyler Hildebrand, USAV’s director of beach coaching for beach national teams.

“As the National Team, we are constantly looking for up-and-coming talent to represent the USA in international competition and the Olympic Games.  This competition, put on by USAV, is a great opportunity to showcase that talent and compete against the best. “

While the NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship gives titles to schools, the CBC puts to focus on individual pairs.

On the men’s side, teams get another chance to compete in a high-profile environment.

The women’s final will be broadcast on NBC Sports Network. The men’s final and preliminary rounds will be live streamed at USAVolleyball.org.

A maximum of 32 teams from each gender will compete in the main draw tournament, which starts May 9. The qualification bracket (played on May 8) will send eight teams of each gender, out of a maximum of 24, to the main draw.

LSU Tigers Claire Coppola and Kristen Nuss won the 2018 women’s title while Florida State’s Jon Justice and Adam Wienckowski won the men’s championship.
