COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (April 28, 2026) – USA Volleyball today announced the appointment of Bari Greenfield as Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective May 18. Greenfield joins the organization following a career leading high-impact strategic, operational, and commercial growth initiatives across the sports industry, including senior leadership roles with Major League Soccer and New York Road Runners.
As COO, Greenfield will oversee day-to-day operations, strategic planning, and cross-functional execution to ensure alignment between USA Volleyball’s mission, growth strategy, and nationwide community engagement. She will serve as a key partner to Chief Executive Officer John Speraw and the senior leadership team, driving operational excellence and elevating the experience for athletes, members, and partners across all levels of the sport.
“Bari brings a rare combination of strategic clarity, operational discipline, and a deep belief in sport’s power to connect and inspire communities,” said John Speraw, President and CEO of USA Volleyball. “Her experience leading transformational initiatives across complex organizations will be instrumental as we strengthen volleyball’s pathway from grassroots to the Olympic stage and build on the sport’s momentum nationwide.”
Prior to joining USA Volleyball, Greenfield served as Vice President of Enterprise Partnerships at Major League Soccer, where she most recently led enterprise-wide planning for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to position the league for long-term growth around the global event. She also simultaneously oversaw one of the League’s largest commercial portfolios, spanning partnerships and consumer products for the League and across all 30 clubs, MLS NEXT Pro and MLS NEXT.
Previously, as Vice President of Strategy, Planning & Organizational Operations at New York Road Runners, she led major strategic initiatives, launched multiple new key business functions, and directed the program management team for the TCS New York City Marathon, one of the world’s largest mass-participation sporting events.
“It’s an incredible honor to join USA Volleyball at such an exciting moment for the sport,” said Greenfield. “Volleyball’s rapid growth across youth, collegiate, professional, and Olympic levels reflects the strength of its community and the opportunity ahead. I look forward to partnering with our staff, regions, athletes, and stakeholders to continue building an organization that delivers excellence at every level.”
