COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (July 8, 2026) – Thirteen athletes have been named to the U.S. Men’s Sitting National Team roster for the 2026 World ParaVolley World Championship, July 10-17, in Hangzhou, China.
This is the first opportunity for sitting teams to qualify for the 2028 Paralympic Games, with the first- and second-place finishers earning bids to Los Angeles. Moreover, the LA2028 host country (the U.S.) will also qualify for Los Angeles with a top-eight finish. The U.S. Men’s Sitting Team is currently ranked No. 6 in the world, its highest-ranking ever.
After finishing fourth at the 2025 World ParaVolley World Cup, the U.S. Men have their sights set on a top-eight finish and a trip to the 2028 Paralympic Games. The team hasn’t qualified for the Paralympics since Rio in 2016. The top 10 teams in the world are among the competitors; besides the U.S., teams are No. 1 Egypt, No. 2 Brazil, No. 3 Bosnia & Herzegovina, No. 4 Iran, No. 5 Kazakhstan, No. 7 Germany, No. 8 Canada, No. 9 Ukraine and No. 10 Croatia.
