Men's National Team Assistant Coach
Argentine Olympian and longtime pro club coach Javier Weber joined the U.S. Men’s National Team as an assistant coach in 2022.
Since 2021, Weber has been the head coach for Indykpol AZS Olsztyn in Poland. He made his coaching debut in 2002 with the Brazilian club Unisul and has also coached Panathinaikos Athens, Bolivar, and Dynamo Krasnodar. With Argentine Bolivar, his team was Argentine Champion six times and the Argentine Cup winner four times. He also won the South American Club Championship and the Champion’s Cup.
Weber also coached the Argentine men’s national team from 2009 to 2013, leading the team to a fourth-place finish in the 2011 World League.
As a player, Weber represented Argentina as a setter in three Olympic Games, winning a bronze medal in 1988. He also played in five World Championships. During his professional career, he played in both Argentina and Italy.
He was born in Buenos Aires and began playing volleyball at 16.
