The U.S. Men's National Team earned a top three seed in the quarterfinals of the Paris Olympics and finished 3-0 to win Pool B with a 3-1 (25-16, 25-18, 18-25, 25-19) win over Japan on Friday.
Hughes/Cheng Win Pool, Advance to Round of 16 in Paris
The U.S. beach team of Sara Hughes and Kelly Cheng defeated Svenja Müller and Cinja Tillmann of Germany, 2-0 (21-18, 21-18) in a matchup of undefeated teams to finish 3-0 in pool play on Friday. Both teams advanced to the Round of 16 at the Paris Olympics.
Evans/Budinger to Play Australia to Advance in Paris
Chase Budinger and Miles Evans dropped their final pool match to Pablo Herrera and Adrian Gavira of Spain 2-0 (21-18, 21-11) at Eiffel Tower Stadium on Friday. Budinger and Evans finish third in the pool and avoid outright elimination.
